Bundesliga: Boniface faces ban for unsportsmanlike gesture

Victor Boniface could miss Bayer Leverkusen’s opening Bundesliga game of the season against Borussia Monchengladbach due to suspension.

Boniface is being investigated for unsportsmanlike gestures in Die Werkself’s German Super Cup win against VFB Stuttgart last weekend.

The Nigeria international would be sanctioned by the German Football Association if found guilty.

The German Football Association have banned Victor Boniface for one DFB-Pokal match and fined him €25,000 for unsporting conduct after he appeared to show his middle finger towards VfB Stuttgart players while celebrating Bayer Leverkusen’s penalty shootout win in the DFL-Supercup final.
